Applicants of Personal Licences have
to possess and accredited licensing qualification such as the BIIAB
Level 2 National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders (NCPLH).
Kurnia are an approved BIIAB training centre approved to administer
the BIIAB NCPLH qualification. We are now regularly running courses in Lincolnshire
and are also able to visit your premises to deliver the qualification
to your staff (subject to minimum fees, please call to discuss your
requirements)
The course duration is approx 7
hours, commencing at approximately 9:15am and finishing at approx 4.45pm,
including a short multiple-choice examination at the end of the day.
The examination
for the NCPLH lasts 40 minutes and consists of 40 multiple choice
questions drawn from the assessment criteria. In order to pass the
examination candidates must answer at least 28 out of 40 questions
correctly.
A comprehensive
official BIIAB NCPLH workbook, presented in an easy-to-follow format, supports the
qualification and covers all the information needed for the
examination, is included in the fee.
The NCPLH covers the syllabus set by
Government to enable candidates to understand the law in relation
to:
the roles, responsibilities and
functions of licensing authorities within the framework of the
licensing objectives
the application process for a
personal licence
the role and legal
responsibilities of the personal licence holder, and the
penalties relating to failure to comply with the law
the premises licence
the content and purpose of
operating schedules
the role and duties of the
designated premises supervisor (DPS)
unauthorised licensable activities
unauthorised licensable activities
permitted temporary licensable
activities
rights of entry to licensed
premises
police powers with regard to
suspension and closure of licensed premises
the specific prohibitions for the
sale of alcohol
the strengths of alcoholic drinks,
and the effects of alcohol on the human body
the protection of children from
harm
the responsible retail sale of
alcohol
This one day course and
multiple-choice assessment costs £120.00 plus VAT (£138.00) per
candidate which includes
examination fee, workbook, certificate (upon successful completion
of examination), lunch and refreshments.
(Please note other centres may
quote lower fees but may not include lunch or tan official BIIAB
NCPLH course workbook)
Our current pass rate for the NCPLH, as at
May 2009, is a credible 98%. (Above national average)
